Spending a magical afternoon to “protect and beautify”, PPG Automotive Refinish employees had the opportunity to participate in a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project in Orlando, Fla., partnering with local nonprofit Give Kids The World Village.
Refinish employees bring magic to Orlando COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project
As part of their annual National Sales Meeting, nearly 400 Refinish team members participated across several projects, which included staining, mural painting, and crafting.
Approximately 130 employee volunteers went to Give Kids The World Village, where they stained a large fence and painted a mural on canvas. Another 250 employees stayed back at the conference hotel and participated in crafting activities for the organization. Give Kids the World holds holidays for their visitors every week, so volunteers made Halloween masks and Christmas ornaments that will be used for the theme nights.
In addition to the project with Give Kids The World Village, 15 PPG volunteers partnered with customer Boyd Gerber to hold a mentoring day with Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Give Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Kissimmee, Fla., that provides week-long, cost-free wish vacations to critically ill children and their families from around the world who want to visit Central Florida. Since 1986, Give Kids The World Village has welcomed more than 187,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries.
“Give Kids The World would like to thank PPG and the Automotive Refinish team for their time, kindness, and support to our organization,” said John Louine, vice president of operations, Give Kids The World. “The Village is made possible by the support of generous donors and community partners, as well as thousands of passionate volunteers, who donate their time and talent making wishes come true.”
