PPG, NHL team up for transformative COLORFUL COMMUNITIES project

BGC Toronto Kiwanis is on a mission to provide safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life. With the help of new, vibrant paint colors and volunteer power, the youth who attend the Club will find these experiences surrounded by freshly painted spaces.

In Toronto, Canada, PPG employees and National Hockey League (NHL®) staff teamed up to beautify the entrance, theater, recreational space and hallways of BGC Toronto Kiwanis as part of our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program. With colors aimed to create engagement in spaces for learning, the transformed areas will create a source of warmth and comfort as children and youth participate in after-school and summer camp programs.

“We are proud to team up the with NHL to bring color and a fresh look to BGC Toronto Kiwanis and the children they serve,” said Victoria Mastroianni, Marketing Manager, PPG. “We know the importance of color in creating joyful learning environments where young people feel supported and engaged. The unity of our PPG employees with volunteers from the NHL helped to expand the impact of this project. It was inspiring to see the teams come together to benefit the Club. It is truly amazing the difference a coat of paint can make.”

Using SICO® paint by PPG, the project marked the first-ever Colorful Communities project collaboration with the NHL. As the Official Paint of the NHL in the U.S. and Canada, the collaboration served as a new way to underscore our ongoing partnership with the league and enable PPG employees to live the company purpose to protect and beautify the world.

“The NHL is thrilled to partner with PPG on this important initiative. We share the goal of serving our communities and the Toronto BGC Kiwanis Club project is a great example of this commitment. Along with the many ways PPG products are integrated into the fabric of our game, we are appreciative of being linemates on this Colorful Communities event, and look forward to partnering on future projects,” said Evin Dobson, NHL SVP Partnership Marketing.
