PPG and PPG Foundation financially support global local organizations focusing on education and community sustainability. Our workforce volunteers. Our employees are frequently in classrooms, playgrounds, hospitals. They do more than paint, they inspire students and energize communities.

This summer, severe floods hit Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Among those affected were PPG employees, many of whom lost personal belongings and property. The floods also damaged several PPG sites, including the Automotive OEM and Refinish facilities in Wuppertal and Hilden, Germany, the Architectural Coatings office in Hasselt, Belgium, and various communities in the Netherlands.

The Community Engagement Framework is a tool we use for directing our outreach efforts. It was created together with PPG's Sustainability Committee. The framework provides a set of suggested actions for facilities and sites to carry out for community engagement.

PPG, AdoptAClassroom.org team up to help students, teachers thrive

PPG supports educational initiatives that boost community skill levels in manufacturing and information technology. The PPG Foundation has provided grants to the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America (PCA).

Rosedale Technical College's Collision Repair program began in Pittsburgh, 2016. Then, few students were enrolled. Now, it's preparing 40+ students for various careers in the automotive collision repair industry.

PPG and the PPG Foundation step in to help during natural disasters and global crises. Our company's mission is to "protect and beautify the world", a responsibility that becomes crucial in crisis situations. We respond to various emergencies such as hurricanes, fires, floods, and pandemics by offering immediate aid and ongoing assistance to nonprofit organizations.

STEM students

The PPG Foundation, established in 1951, prepares students for future opportunities, revitalizes communities, and advances racial equity through STEM education partnerships.

STREAM Global Innovations, a PPG Foundation partner, is an organization aimed at bridging the gap between education and career in low-income and underserved communities.

Kicking off the company’s 10-year celebration of the Colorful Communities program, the project brought together more than 100 of PPG’s top global leaders, who spent a portion of their annual global leadership meeting updating the club’s computer room, recording studio, gymnasium and teen center outdoor areas with colors that aim to enhance learning and engagement.
