Disaster Relief
When natural disasters and global crises affect our communities, PPG and the PPG Foundation are there to lend support. Our company’s purpose is to “protect and beautify the world”, a commitment that becomes even more meaningful in times of crisis. From hurricanes to fires to flooding to pandemics, we take action to protect our local communities by providing immediate relief and longer-term support to nonprofit organizations to help serve those in need and move toward a brighter future.
HOW PPG RESPONDS
Our disaster response is tailored to the unique needs of our communities, and often involves a combination of the following:
- Grants: PPG and the PPG Foundation provide grants to national and international nonprofit partners to fund immediate relief, and offer targeted assistance to local organizations engaged in longer-term recovery efforts.
- Employee Giving: Through employee matching gift donations, we double our employees’ personal donations to eligible organizations to increase the impact of every contribution.
- Product Donations: We offer specialized products to accelerate recovery and rebuilding efforts, where applicable.
- Employee Assistance: Our PPG Care Fund, funded by the PPG Foundation, provides monetary assistance to eligible employees in the U.S. whose lives have been disrupted by natural disasters.
ADDRESSING COVID-19 CHALLENGES
As the COVID-19 crisis continues to unfold, PPG and the PPG Foundation have committed to contribute more than $1.5 million to organizations engaged in relief and recovery efforts around the world. See how we’re applying our financial support, products, and people to address this global pandemic.
HELPING DURING HURRICANES
When severe weather batters communities where our employees live and work, the PPG Foundation responds with financial support for relief and recovery efforts. AUSTRALIA BUSHFIRES RELIEF
As bushfires were ravaging the countryside, PPG showed solidarity with its nearly 1,000 employees across the continent by providing a donation to the Australian Red Cross to support on-the-ground disaster services and immediate assistance grants, as well as activating an employee matching effort to raise additional funds. PRODUCTS THAT PROTECT
Many of our eco-friendly paints, coatings and specialty materials have unique qualities that make them well-suited for use during times of disaster or during rebuilding efforts. Recently, PPG donated more than 290 gallons (1,100 liters) of MASTER’S MARK™ anti-bacterial interior latex coatings by PPG to Shanghai Tong Ren Hospital to help maintain a clean and safe environment that will help increase the hospital’s protection.
