Customer Care Guidelines for General Cleaning

Congratulations on your purchase of a 2024/2025 Ford Mustang or Bronco featuring durable, self-healing, and scratch-resistant PPG matte clear film. Here, you'll find important owner information related to the maintenance of this automotive film technology.

Your vehicle’s finish requires special care and maintenance that is different from spray-applied clear coats. Please adhere to the following guidelines for proper cleaning and maintenance as it is crucial in preserving your vehicle’s low-gloss appearance for years to come. Failure to follow these guidelines could result in damage to your vehicle’s finish and void your warranty.

Do's and Don'ts Care Instructions

Do This

DO use only microfiber cleaning cloths and non-abrasive products specifically developed for automotive exterior finishes.

DO remove foreign substances such as: insect remains, tar, and road debris using a soft applicator and hot soapy water or mild solvent. NOTE: Saturate and soak the area before cleaning. Lightly rub to clean.

DO hand wash with a soft wash mitt and mild cleaning product safe for automotive exterior finishes. NOTE: Using a garden hose is the best way to remove heavy soiling and debris before washing.

Do Not Do This

DO NOT use any type of wax or polish unless approved for paint film use.

DO NOT use products that are even mildly abrasive, such as rubbing compounds or glazes.

DO NOT use mechanical polishers or high PSI power washers.

DO NOT use commercial car wash facilities and/or their finish enhancement/protection products.

DO NOT use abrasive cleaning clothes or towels.

DO NOT rub the finish vigorously.
