Jamie Redd, Columbus

Jamie Redd is PPG technical sales instruction supervisor, Columbus, Ohio. In this role, Jamie oversees day-to-day operations and leads PPG fleet and commercial coatings training classes at the Columbus business development center. Jamie is also one of PPG’s lead commercial coatings instructors specializing in heavy-duty truck collision repair.

He has over 30 years of experience in the automotive refinish industry. He holds a degree in mechanical and structural engineering and is a certified NACE Coatings Inspector Level 1. He also has ten years of technical training from the Sutherland School of Teaching.

Jamie started his career with PPG in 1989 as a lab technician. After nine years in the lab, he moved to training and has been there ever since.

He loves to paint. Big or small, it is all fun to Jamie, but painting large vehicles is his passion. Jamie's favorite part of the instructor role is passing on information that painters need to know. Jamie’s philosophy is that it is not about what he can teach a student, but what he can teach a student and they, in turn, can teach someone else.

In his free time, Jamie volunteers for the Delaware County Habitat for Humanity chapter, and enjoys water skiing and playing hockey. Jamie also volunteers with SkillsUSA where he encourages the youth that are the future of the refinish industry to follow their passion.

Jamie is currently building a 1968 Oldsmobile 442, and when that is complete, he plans to restore a 1955 Packard Caribbean.
