Indigenous Peoples Crosswalks in Vancouver, BC

In collaboration with Musqueam Capital Corporation, the City of Vancouver Public Art Program coordinated the development of this unique crosswalk at 69th Ave. and Granville Street in Vancouver. The artwork, selected through an open call to Musqueam artists in May 2018, is the design of Robyn Sparrow. Hub Surface Systems and British Columbia Contractor Square One Paving managed the application of ENNIS-FLINT® by PPG TrafficPatterns® preformed thermoplastic, which lasts 6 to 8 times longer than paint. The location of the crosswalks is near the Musqueam ancient village of c̓əsnaʔəm.
