First, I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. This pandemic has dramatically changed our daily lives in so many ways. Like many of you, I am looking forward to a time when we can once again gather with friends and family, resume regular face-to-face meetings, and begin to visit you, our valued customers.
Since the beginning of this pandemic, our focus has continued to be on keeping people safe while meeting your needs. We continuously strive to partner with our customers to create mutual value and help you succeed. The last few months have given us a greater opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to "protecting and beautifying the world," as "protect" is taking on more significance to all of us - protecting our people, our customers and our communities.
We value the opportunity to work with you, as we understand the essential role our products play in a wide range of important industries. Our paints, coatings and specialty materials help create life-critical products in health care, hospitals, defense, food and beverage, hygiene, agriculture, energy, public works, and information technology systems, as well as many others. We are honored and proud to partner with you to create the products that people count on.
Through these difficult times, our commitment to our communities continues. We recently announced a $1.5 million donation to support global COVID-19 relief efforts. We also have contributed a variety of in-kind supply donations to non-profits and first responders, including paint and masks. Community sustainability is a long-standing pillar at PPG. We are grateful to be able to support regional and global organizations in their vital work to help others in need. That's The PPG Way.
I am proud of our people around the world, as they have risen above these challenging times and demonstrated their commitment to operating safely while supporting our customers. As we look at our supply chain, we are continually assessing all of our critical products and are actively working to assure we have the products available for you.
