PPG’s advanced energy-curable coatings are formulated without solvents and utilize ultra-violet (UV) or electron beam (EB) energy for curing, transforming a liquid coating into a solid finish within seconds, without any significant loss of thickness or weight. UV and EB technologies cure at room temperatures, eliminating the need for thermal ovens. This translates into considerable savings in energy and time, while also boosting productivity due to the rapid curing process and parts that are ready for immediate handling.

Designed to meet the requirements of the flooring, wall panels, wood furniture and consumer electronics industries, Raycron ultraviolet (UV) and Electron Beam (EB) curable coatings require much less energy than conventional coatings using heat and cure into seconds only. They can be made from 100 percent solids, but also with a mix of waterborne and solventborne formulations.
